Mountain States Foraging

So you want to get to know the edible plants in your mountainous back yard? This foraging book is a great start! Written right in the Rocky Mountain region by one of my favorite herbalists and mentors; Briana Rose Wiles.

Mountain States Foraging is the perfect companion to get acquainted with the bountiful and delicious flora around the mountain west. It is an informative guide to understanding the habitats and identifying edible wild plants. It also has some suggested ways to prepare the plants as well as inclusion of nutritional information.

This book has come into handy for me so often that I now just leave it in my hiking pack as a handy reference guide when I'm out identifying plants. The book is a helpful guide in learning the plants where I live and gives some comprehensive suggestions as to how best prepare the wild harvested plants.
